GULLINESS

Cam'ron - Got It For Cheap

Killa Cam is back. Personally, I had to let that sink in for a second. Cam'ron is one of the most flamboyant, outspoken, lyrically-talented and mentally-questionable trendsetters in the game and after a two year hiatus, he's gracing us once again. To be honest with you, I was close to writing him off. Questionable beefs, personal problems, falling out with his closest friends and crew (Jones and Juelz in particular) and many ill-fated career moves (did he just say that?) had me wondering if he could still do it. His handful of sporadic, internet-leaked tracks and mixtape illustrated that he definitely had the ability but the question of whether Cam could still be a notable figure in the landscape didn't seem to have a positive answer. And then almost out of nowhere, he hits us with Crime Pays and I'm left collecting my thoughts. It's a big deal in itself that Cam actually put out a new album but to have it be really fucking good is a something I find incredibly satisfying to say, especially as a fan.

And for those who missed it the first time, this is for you:
