Providence emcee, Theo Martins has got versatility in spades. He dropped his "Channel Surfin'" mixtape last month in which he conceptualized his existence as various channels on the tube and took a stab at society's attention span or lack therof, by utilizing beats ranging from boom bap stompers, party jams with Neptunes-esque stabs of synths, dreamy Dilla-type atmospherics knee-deep in soul and even a god damn Foals track. It was a frenetic exercise of push and pull but Theo kept it cohesive with clever wordplay, flows for days and some super sweet melodies. A month later and he's collaborated with Ohio based producer Super $port on an EP under the duo name of "Chris Connery". "Kirby's Airwalk" is the first taster from You Can't Do That On Television and sounds as if it was concocted in the middle of the night with bad intentions. Superbad.
