Really, really feelin these smoothed-out, gin-inspired joints courtesy of German producer Suff Daddy. Drums and textures which call to mind the likes of Dilla and sampling that would make Just Blaze and 'Ye double take. However, there's subtlety to Suff Daddy's swagger and unlike those more obvious comparisons, his beats tend to work you over more slowly and surely, allowing you to appreciate and take in all those little details you would've missed had he been smothering you. Above all, there's an intangible Euro coolness which permeates throughout allowing for a different perspective on instrumental hip hop.
