This track from Melbourne punx Brainwaves sounds just like a classic Dead Kennedys number, which is funny because their Tumblr sez “We like early 80's punk from California and DC.” It doesn’t matter though, guys! We’re still talking about the three best geographic regions for American punk in the best ‘era’ that’s ever happened, ever. It’s real confident and ‘rock n roll’, but not in that stupid goofy So. Cal. way, just like a bunch of badasses doing serious business. The production on this jam, from Brainwaves’ debut 7” (out mid-September), is frenetic & chaotic & retardedly good, seriously: why don’t all punk bands sound like this?
