SUMMER HEARTACHE

Honestly, I'll be happy if this fuzzed-out pop-punk thing never goes away, ever! It's been a while since Nathan Williams was recording hi-octane jams alone in his bedroom, but the fact that he's moved on to newer, more neatly recorded things doesn't mean that it's not really exciting to hear songs like this: just hooks and enthusiasm and flailing arms and legs, all the fat trimmed away. The tracks on the Miss You Most EP are as full of gloriously distorted melody as those early Wavves albums, or, more recently, Tonstartssbandht, but they're more concerned with sweet sentimentality than bored ennui. And that's great! Download Miss You Most for free from Big Surr's blog.
