Premiere: TREMOR POLITIX

MP3: Ghoul – 3 Mark

Psyched to “premiere” this brand new jam from Sydney’s Ghoul for you; these dudes pretty much mastered dark, post-Liars electronica on their 2008 debut EP, A Mouthful of Gold, but 3 Mark is kind of an amazing step up. It’s slickly produced but not so it sounds comfortable - actually, the combination of glitchy beats and melodramatic crooning is super unsettling - sounds like if Matthew Dear quit being a horndog because the ennui got too much. Ghoul’s new record, Dunks, is out January 2011 on Speak N Spell.

It lacks prominent direction but it's still a nice song. Vocalist is reminiscent of Wild Beasts vocalist Hayden Thorpe. I enjoy it. I'd like to get my hands on the stems.
