Ever the sucker for lightly overdriven guitars and achingly sincere melodies, I'm kinda swooning right now over Ladies and Gentlemen of the Canyon and their tweeish-but-not charm. "Formed from a mutual love of noise and pop", their admiration for those most basic and ubiquitous of elements beam through their tunes with carefree glow. Just one of their too few songs floating around, "I Screwed Up" is part Like Honey pastels with shades of early, distorted Stereolab guitar exercises warmed over with layers of adorable-ness.
