MP3: Kite Club – Confusion
I’ve never really listened to ELO, so I can’t tell you if this cover by Melbourne’s Kite Club (under the not-really-a-pseudonym of Kite Club: After Dark) is faithful to the original. But the way this version of Confusion sounds all woozy and seasick but in other ways super clear and melodic is pretty fresh sounding? Totally into the echo chamber falsetto and shimmering trails - sounds totally nostalgic for 1980s alt. balladry but in a super relaxed and natural way; none of this fucking hyperactive synth shit.
