For someone who hasn't even released a single, let alone a mixtape, I'm really taken by the stellar sounds on offer here. Relatively fresh faced and new to the game, Jared Evan has delivered something well beyond his 21 years. Delicate and hard, vulnerable and ambitious, "Feeling Like A Song" is the kind of track you put together after years of strife, success and an extensive 4 album discography but life won't wait. Produced by Illmind, the beat seems almost organic and compliments Evan's lyrics, painting images monochromatic and full of colour. Visual impact seems to be what Evan's words are all about as they were also his means of getting signed. Collaborating with noted hip hop video director Rik Cordero, they created visuals to accompany Evan's music and circulated them with industry bigwigs. Within weeks he was signed to Polow Da Don's Zone 4 label (distributed by Interscope) and the rest is soon to be history.
