More smooth, subdued lo-fi R&B brilliance from Sydney producer Guerre. There's a strange juxtaposition between the vague ridiculousness of the slowed down, spaced out '90s R&B tropes (the falsetto, the double-tracked vocals, the drum machine) and the fact that they actually sound really great over the waves of ambient melody on this track. The end result's a suprisingly tender slow jam. By now, of course, we're kind of in need of a catchy handle for this new genre - "lo-fi R&B" is kind of a mouthful? I'm casting a preemptive vote against "urbanwave".
