Got a whole summer ahead of me right now (southern hemisphere, whaddup) which means non-stop R&B burners are a must. Always coming correct on that end, Trey Songz lets it all go on his most recent mixtape #lemmeholdatbeat. The twitter-isms all over the place are a tad overdone but I ain't mad - the tape's hot. Lovin the subtle switch-ups in this particular jam which is a little more "darkly chill" than the rest of the mixtape. Backed with some sparse 808s, the main guitar line seems to hark to that late night creep while slowly morphing into spaced-out So Far Gone-ish textures all awash in a velvety, romantic ambience.
