MP3: The Meanest Boys - Strangest Things

Real terrific sounds from Cali bedroom popster Will Marquis's solo project, The Meanest Boys. This whole EP rides this kinda technicolor 60s pop tip, swinging from sweet n' wistful to jaunty but always with that totally charming fuzzed out home recording vibe. This track, Strangest Things, is one of the jaunty ones, all swaggering and confident despite the rattling, super-cheap drum machine and overbearing bass riff. You can buy The Meanest Boys' earlier tape from Mirror Universe (also home to RQ faves Cough Cool, Blissed Out, Pink Priest). Oh, and this record's bandcamp page has basically the best tags ever: "four loko lo-fi satanic pop weed witchcraft California".
