Emeralds' John Elliot has started the new Spectrum Spools offshoot label with heavy hitters Editions Mego and the first cut is from Chicago multi-instrumentalist Matthew Mullane whose cosmic, mostly synth-driven drones come out in both isolated sci-fi OPN-style holographs as well as recalling more homely images. Or, as Spectrum Spools puts it, makes "compositions which embark on a voyage through darkness of night and the brightness of day".
