A new Deep Magic LP has just dropped on Housecraft and its chimes as obliquely delicately as we're used to. It's mastered by no less than Sean McCann whose no stranger to this sort of half-awake, textural immersive bliss.

STASIS

Those drippy smiley faces and general rave signifier pile-up from Wellington via Montreal producer Window suit this slowed breakbeat pretty perfectly. He's got a few releases out there on the Web somewhere but this one's sounding the most solid.

FLAW OF PERFECTION

This ecco edit from $LUDGEHAMMER is really hitting the spot this evening after all those heavy Halloween nights; a real cinematic drifter on a similar blurred and super beautiful vaporwave/rap tip as a lot of the reworkings on that Ryan Hemsworth FACT mix.

More excellent stuff from the Svengali label, this time on that emotive IDM tip with this new release from Different Sleep. Real crystal clear melody-centric post-techno stuff with a light footwork beats and some early 2K Jimmy Tamberello memories along with it. Download the whole thing over at bandcamp.

SEAN'S BEACH

Vancouver producer Bobby Draino's scorched house music always has this acid-washed glee to it, but it seems to reach a certain new apex on this selfmorphing beach-inspired track. Those initial melted, tropical synth stabs start out dazed and it only gets more frivolous from then on in, really revelling in the 90s house opulence (and decayed psych) at around the 4:30 mark when the extra hi-hats come in. His dance experimentalism is busy and blown out, especially live with a full table of beat-up Yamaha mixers and keyboards at his disposal.

PSYCHIC ELEVATOR

Vancouver's premiere muddy techno/house experimentalist Cloudface recorded a mix for our buddy Daniel Gottlieb's radio show a while back. It's pretty amazing, and as Daniel puts it full of "live improvised analog hardware House, but with a weird, psychedelic edge. The tracklist is up over at Spiral Sounds.

SHIFTER

MP3: Golden Donna - Shifter

We're still going back to the opulent, cosmic heights of NNF-released Golden Donna's "Paulding Light", and this upcoming full-length sounds like it's not going to disappoint; real wide spaces and nice, clear retrofuturistic tendencies with subtle bass grooves unfurling out of those sequenced synth repetitions. The self-titled LP is available via Not Not Fun and Midheaven Mailorder on October 30.

This new Image Circle track should definitely last longer than just two minutes, but I guess such a fleeting, hazy, early Nite Jewel-recalling moment works best this short and elusive. AM Discs has the Portland duo's debut album Mecca up for purchase on October 12, with a CD release coming in November.

"Yr So Wet 3.0" is a definite highlight from this new collab from jungle-obsesssive Ultrademon and rap deconstructor DJ Kiff, repping some beach/Seapunk zones here but mostly just some real ecstatic, tropical breaks.

We've been going back to LOL Boys recent FADER mix a lot lately, especially after news of their sudden "hiatus". These two new tracks from one half, Jerome, have the same breezy hi-hat shuffle (though more pensive vibe) as all the reworkings on that mix as well as the 'Net-inspired yet crystal clear pop sensibility that made their recent EP so compelling.

GEISTY

Montreal-based (via Vancouver and Beijing) lounge-noir producer Thin Gaze played up on our rooftop a month or so back, and while that was a pretty stressful affair (noise complaints, near falls, roof saggage etc.), his low-lit experimental pop definitely soothed the situation. Quietly deconstructing traditional Leonard Cohen-esque brooders with a penchant for dark R&B vibes (and chopped/screwed signifiers) of Omarion, tracks like "Geisty" have a heavily filmic quality. All those manipulated vocals and looped guitars give a strange interplay across the tape as well as a roadweary haze.

First new Teams upload in a while and it's sampling Beyonce's "Naughty Girl" of all things. Only vaguely though; it's all his production apart from this vocal lift, with real scruffy breakbeats and a hypnotic synth melody at the front of this nicely spacious track.
