Our favourite mutant-angel-rapper Mykki Blanco seems to be channeling Marilyn Manson and NIN in this excellent new Nick Hooker-directed video. "Head is Stone" is taken from Mykki's excellent industrial/punk EP Mykki Blanco & The Mutant Angels (out on OHWOW/UNO). Really enjoyed this feature on Mykki up on the New York Times (!) too.

MP3: Mykki Blanco & the Mutant Angels - Head Is A Stone

A bit of a follow-up from yesterday's post of the new video for Mykki Blanco's "Join My Militia (Nas Gave Me A Perm)", the Mykki Blanco & the Mutant Angels self-titled EP came out today on UNO and lead single "Head is a Stone" is a turgid, spine-tingling garage-punk song. Unlike his recent party tracks "Fuck the DJ" and "Wavvy", everything here is run through copious amounts of distortion, and driven by a lurching, disturbingly aggressive rhythm. This is a pretty serious statement of purpose for the EP and testement to Blanco's swagger that she can pull it off.

Been meaning to get this killer track from Harlem MC/poet/artist Mykki Blanco up for a while now but somehow totally slept on it - better late than never! Blanco's raw, ferocious flow is totally captivating - spitting out words which seem to warp and meld themselves into Arca's deep industrial production. Exciting to hear hip-hop that sounds so next-level pan-gender post-everything. Look out for Blanco's debut mixtape through DIS Magazine.
