MP3: Cat Cat - Keys and Locks Don't Work
So vibed on this new Cat Cat single; it goes heavy on that total 90s trick of matching a melancholic tone with propulsive rhythm guitars & drums for a sound that's kinda gauzy & wistful but perfect for booze-fuelled teenage adventures, I guess. Their terrific Waking Space EP took some cues from the Dunedin sound but this song - the first from their debut album, Uralba (on brilliant local label Dream Damage!) - is all about the Smashing Pumpkins' 1979; such a classic!
