THE DETOUR

Woah just got home after a week of some "intense partying" + work overload to Kevin Costner on the TV, first w/ Maori people dancing but then a red convertible cruisin', then, YACHTS, which ties in pretty nicely with an email containing a new Wonder Wheel video for a jam that is janglier than what I remember and kind of riduculously fitting with both tiredness and the found video clip and its old desperate B&W drama The Detour. It's the first we've heard from newest Wonder Wheel album Brave New World WHICH apparently is also the 23rd full-length WW release. WTF!

Wonder Wheel - TV Screen
Sooo I found a veritable BUTTLOAD of sunny West Coast jives last week (ie Best Coast, Pearl Harbour, Dunes, Horse Head) thanks to a quick MySpace hop/jaunt. It's all good/new feelin's and I got particularly lost in Wonder Wheel's hurried gems and not just because there's so flippin' many on up for download on his blog, it's just how they're slipping in and out of synthesis, w/ occasional flickers of Clean-style jangles and vogue feelings. They're candenscent like grainy VHS waves/lines and obviously pained cruise ship bar singer getting lost in his own old hits, half finished sentences.
