This is as strong a way to open an album as yr likely to hear and as dense and beautiful as this sort of wispy folky stuff gets, it's got mood up the wazoo, fields of sugarcane and sorghum and wheat going past the window as the sun turns it all golden. It sounds particularly good on a stupidly hot Brisbane morning now that I have enourmous old Yamaha speakers in my 'office' rather than just a pair of lousy headphones. I hear it on my front porch, short and focused.

Roadside revival
