Our favs High Places edge closer to dance music here than ever before and I must say I'm really glad for this, even if it was the beats between the beats that made their 03/07 - 09/07 compilation so sewn at the edges and gave their electronics a hessian and homely texture. It's not just those uniquely crafted aesthetics that make their new album so great (it's mostly way shinier anyway) but their interest in sounding at once like the beach/the ghetto and the forest/the jungle and a jungle gym/jello mold that is my favourite. Even if their bling shines like a plastic ruby their heart is 4 real, glossy headed and translucent.
