It's been a while since an album has caught me so completely off guard but it was an instant/intoxicating first love with Bathcrones' debut Psychorama. Infusing those shimmering club-friendly beats with the mesmeric positivity of new age synth muzik never felt so right or so real; the album plays out like a maximalist paean for clubs with skyward waterfalls and inter-dimensional soundsystems, and at others like a life-affirming prom nite ending to a teen movie. "Dancefloor transcendence" for sure.
