WHERE COULD WE GO TONIGHT

Jeremy Jay - We Were There

Jeremy Jay's pop always has this 50s/60s futurism propelled by this immensely steady sensibility that is coupled with awkwardness and drums sometimes just a little off the mark, which I guess leave room for those synths (shit, those starry synths) that on his new record come super strong and glittered next to his voice and his gaze fixed on the TV camera, shoulders moving and hair flopping and everything sounding genuinely pretty dreamy, his romanticism offset by streetlights and grey marble studio backdrop. I really like his socks, an item of clothing which seem to me now more than ever an integral part of an outfit.
